Oh people, these are.. incredible!

Do you know these fall Sunday mornings when everyone is just .. relaxed, ready to snuggle? That’s what these are made for – they’re done in 20-25mins & taste perfect still warm.

For a family breakfast or brunch, for jam, butter, cheese.. whatever you choose, they’ll fit perfectly!

Now, if you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I avoid dairy as much as possible because my skin doesn’t like it. However, these bread rolls are too good to miss, so I do give in occassionally (when you have food freedom, you can eat whatever you want & not judge yourself!) & enjoy the hell outta them!

These days, my mom is visiting & I’ve been making ALL-THE-FOOD so that she can get a taste of everything. I had to present these bread rolls to her.. then I realised I could share them with you as well.

Btw, she called them perfect. And she’s a person who always finds something to complain about (don’t tell her I said this)

Ingredients are, you’ve guessed it – simple!

All you need is your whole grain flour; both spelt & wheat work fine, cream cheese & egg.

I prefer using whole grain spelt flour because it’s richer in proteins, iron, phosphorus, copper, magnesium, zinc, as well as unsaturated fatty acids then whole grain wheat flour.

Eggs are gonna provide us with tons of best quality protein, folate, vitamin D & B12 – both of which are extremely important. B12 can be found only in animal products, so eggs are my favorite source – and we need it to prevent anemia & to keep our blood cells and nerves healthy. Folate is crucial for DNA + RNA production & blood cell production.

Eggs also contain vitamin A, pantothenic acid, vitamin B2, phosphorus, selenium, Vitamin E, K & B6, zinc. Powerhouses!

I avoid cream cheese – and all cheeses, as much as possible, as I’ve said. My body just can’t handle it well. That being said, there are many people who handle dairy well – then there’s not reason to avoid it.

Cheese contains calcium, as well as vitamins D, B12, a bit of phosphorus & potassium. Pretty nice addition to our bread rolls.

That’s it folks – all ingredients you need are extremely simple & so is the making process. Easy like Sunday morning!


  • Eggs: vitamin A, folate, pantothenic acid, vitamin B2, B12, phosphorus, selenium, Vitamin E, D, K & B6, zinc & the best protein

Sunday morning bread rolls, extremely quick

  • 1 cup + 2tbsp (250g) cream cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups (250g) whole grain spelt or wheat flour
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • pinch of salt


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C

  2. In a bowl, combine all ingredients & form a dough - with hands or handmixer.

  3. With wet hands, form 8 balls & place them on a parchment lined baking pan.

  4. Bake for ca 20mins, check with a toothpick if they're done.

  5. They taste the best warm.. at least to me 🙂 Enjoy!
