As we learned the other day, adaptogens are incredible and definitely worthy of integrating in a self-loving lifestyle. 


However, wonderful properties of ashwagandha are not the only reason to enjoy this beverage. You can drink it just because it tastes so good!

It’s like elevated hot chocolate; delicious, keeps you hormones balanced and helps you live in harmony. Who doesn’t need some of that in life?


Just for the laughs, first time I ordered my ashwagandha powder, I was so excited to try it that I dropped the whole bag. Completely white kitchen floor.. I wanted to cry a little, it was one of those moments when you’re SO happy about something and then you ruin it. And you don’t know whether you should cry or laugh, so you kinda do both at the same time. Sounds familiar?

Luckily, it wasn’t all gone, so I still got to enjoy it.


Ashwagandha is not the only goodie in my magical drink; as we learned, cocoa is pretty awesome too.

Cinnamon is also incredible, packed with antioxidants. It contains manganese, calcium, iron, several more minerals and vitamins, as well as fiber.  It’s beneficial for our blood sugar levels, immune system and digestion. Love it! I add cinnamon in almost everything I eat, it’s one of the best spices EVER.


My prefered time to drink this magic is late afternoon or evening, around 2 hours before going to bed. I find that it helps fight my insomnia  a lot, I used to spend long time tossing and turning in the bed every single night, wondering why I can’t sleep. It’s much better now and I’m amazed by how well it worked. I did expect my sleep to get better, but so much better.. honestly, no. Oh, the magic of hormone balancing.


As I mentioned in my little adaptogens lesson, I take a teaspoon of ashwagandha powder with my morning coffee as well, to enhance my mental abilities. I find it incredible.


Guys, I’m totally in love with ashwagandha, you must try it! Sure, I love food & all about it, it’s my thing, but ashwagandha takes this obsession to the whole new level, okay?

It’s just awesome. No wonder Ayurvedic medicine uses it for thousands of years!

Ok, before I go totally crazy, let’s just dive into the recipe!

Loving nutrition:

  • Ashwagandha: pure magic; antioxidants, helps restore balance, fights stress, does wonders for our mental + physical health
  • Cocoa: flavanols,  manganese, calcium, iron, several more vitamins + minerals & fiber
  • Cinnamon:  antioxidants, manganese, calcium, iron, several more vitamins + minerals & fiber


Hormone balancing ashwagandha cocoa

Course Drinks
Prep Time 2 minutes
Cook Time 2 minutes
Total Time 4 minutes
Servings 2


  • 2 cups milk of your choice I use oat milk
  • 1 tbsp raw cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp ashwagandha powder
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil optional
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract optional
  • pinch salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon, or to taste
  • 1 tsp honey, or to taste


  1. Warm up the milk in a small sauce pan on a low heat. Don't boil it.

  2. Add the rest of ingredients & whisk until everything is combined.

  3. Pour it in the mugs, garnish with cinnamon, cacao nibs or nuts; whatever you feel like!

  4. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

  • Leave cocoa out & put a bit more cinnamon.
  • Substitute cocoa with carob!
